My 2026 Pivot: How a Wake-Up Call Transformed My Business (and My Mindset)

My 2026 Pivot: How a Wake-Up Call Transformed My Business (and My Mindset)

May 18, 2026

It was early March 2026 when my long-time partner and client told me he needed to step back.
Cash flow issues on his end meant our collaboration would continue — but at a slower pace. At first, I'll admit — I panicked. For the past five years, I'd grown complacent. I had one client, steady work, and a routine that felt safe.
But safe doesn't pay the bills when the unexpected happens.
That conversation was my wake-up call.
It forced me to confront a hard truth: I'd stopped planning ahead. I'd stopped growing. And in an era where AI is reshaping businesses overnight, standing still isn't just risky — it's a one-way ticket to irrelevance.
So I decided to pivot. Not just in my business, but in my mindset.

The Realization: Comfort Was My Enemy

For years, I'd relied on a single client for most of my income. It was easy. It was predictable. But when that predictability cracked, I realized how fragile my foundation was.
I needed to diversify — not just my income, but my skills, my visibility, and my offerings.
And then there was AI. Everywhere I looked, businesses were integrating AI to streamline workflows, create content, and serve clients better. If I wanted to stay competitive, I had to adapt. Fast.
So I did what I do best: I rolled up my sleeves and got to work.

Building SK Learning Online: My Knowledge Hub

Before I even rebuilt SriMarketer.com, I knew I needed a space to document and share everything I was learning. That's how SK Learning Online was born — a free membership site dedicated to helping people navigate online business with the power of AI.

I designed it as an ecosystem where anyone could access courses for free, learn the fundamentals, and get started on their own journey. Because if my pivot taught me anything, it's that knowledge shouldn't be gatekept. It should be shared.
Here's what's inside:

1. The CONNECT Framework Course

My five-pillar system for building a sustainable online business:

  • Clarify — Define your goals and audience with precision
  • Optimize — Streamline your processes for maximum efficiency
  • Automate — Use AI and tools to handle repetitive tasks
  • Nurture — Build relationships that last
  • Convert — Turn engagement into action and revenue

2. NotebookLM Mastery

NotebookLM was one of the first tools that helped me pivot. I fed it everything I knew — my skills, my experiences, my learnings — and it helped me synthesize all of that into structured content and frameworks.
If you want to leverage your own knowledge with AI, this course will show you how.

3. How to Get Started Online

A six-module guide for anyone just beginning their online business journey. Finding your niche, understanding your audience, setting up your first digital product — it's all here.

4. AI for Moms

As a mother myself, I wanted to create something specifically for moms who are curious about AI but don't know where to start. Practical, relatable, and designed for real life.

5. AI Foundations (Coming Soon)

A no-jargon, easy-to-follow introduction to AI for absolute beginners. If you've heard about AI but don't really understand what it is or how it works — this one's for you.

The Tools Were Already in My Hands

Three years ago, I invested in GrooveFunnels — an all-in-one platform for websites, membership sites, digital products, webinars and video hosting. At the time, I built a website with it, but life got busy and I let it sit unused.

After my wake-up call, I revisited it with fresh eyes.
I rebuilt SriMarketer.com from the ground up. This time, it wasn't just a placeholder — it was my hub. A place to showcase my services, share my story, and direct potential clients. I integrated a blog, hosted my video content and set up my membership area — all in one platform.

Lesson learned: The tools you already own might be your biggest untapped asset. Before you buy something new — look at what you've already invested in.

Reclaiming My Voice on LinkedIn

Here's a confession: I'd been asleep on LinkedIn for nearly two years.
Despite having over 8,000 connections, I'd stopped posting, stopped engaging, and stopped nurturing the network I'd built. The algorithm had changed — visibility wasn't guaranteed anymore. It had to be earned.
So I adapted.

I created a content schedule — four posts a week, carefully planned. I launched a LinkedIn newsletter, AI Insights with Sri, which now has over 925 subscribers. And I started something new: an AI Video Podcast — produced using Descript for editing and scripted with AI.

The AI Video Podcast and My CONNECT Framework

One of the most exciting parts of my pivot has been turning the CONNECT Framework into the first five episodes of my AI Video Podcast.
My plan? To adapt these episodes into blog posts, downloadable guides and eventually a full course. Because the more I share, the more I realize how much value there is in making these frameworks accessible to everyone.

Upskilling with AI: My New Superpower

AI wasn't just a trend to me — it was a necessity.
I started with ChatGPT, then explored Mistral and Claude. Each had its strengths. Now I rotate between tools depending on the task — Claude for long-form writing and strategy, Mistral for quick content, NotebookLM for research and synthesis.
I'm still learning, still experimenting. And that's the point. You don't need to master everything before you start. You just need to start.

Lessons I've Learned (So Far)

Diversify or die. Relying on one client, one platform, or one skill is a gamble.

Consistency beats perfection. Four high-quality posts a week beats daily mediocre content every time.

Leverage what you have. That unused tool or platform? It might be your next big asset.

AI is a game-changer. The more I learn, the more I realize how much it can do for my business.

Visibility requires strategy. Posting without a plan is like shouting into the void.

Share your knowledge. The more you teach, the more you grow — and the more you help others do the same.

What's Next?

This pivot isn't a one-time event — it's an ongoing journey. Here's what I'm working on:

  • Scaling SK Learning Online with more courses and resources
  • Expanding my AI Video Podcast beyond the CONNECT Framework
  • Growing my LinkedIn newsletter and turning subscribers into a community
  • Refining my content strategy so every post, video and blog adds real value
